We currently seek a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our teams at Western Technical College and Hillview Life Center.
Position Summary
The Lead Teacher is responsible for leading classroom activities, planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, supervising assistant teachers, and maintaining compliance with state licensing standards. This role is essential in fostering a positive learning environment where children thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement daily lesson plans and curriculum aligned with best practices and child development standards
Lead classroom activities and guide children in social, emotional, and cognitive development
Supervise and support assistant teachers and classroom aides to ensure high-quality care and instruction
Ensure the classroom environment is safe, clean, and well-organized
Communicate regularly with families about their child’s progress and classroom events
Maintain all documentation and comply with state licensing and YWCA policies
Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings
Qualifications
Meet Wisconsin state requirements for Lead Teacher certification in early childhood education
Prior experience working in early childhood education settings, preferably in a supervisory or lead role
Strong understanding of child development principles and early learning best practices
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
